What is the #1 problem of today’s parents?  Many say that it is raising a positive child in a negative society -- in other words, raising a child with strong character in a society that seems increasingly bent on exalting negative character traits and negative behavior.  Nearly half of the parents surveyed in a recent Public Agenda poll said that they worry more about protecting their children from negative social influences than about paying their bills or having enough family time together.

To make matters worse, parents also fear that they may not be getting the job done. In the same survey, 83% said that they think it is “absolutely essential” to raise their children to have self-control and self-discipline, but only 34% think that they have succeeded.
